When I was in my twenties, it was easy for me to maintain my ideal weight. I could eat whatever tempted my taste-buds with little to no consequences. I could even eat late at night; it seemed as if the fat just vanished while I was dreaming.
Now that I am in my thirties and have given birth to two children, my body has changed; I no longer have an accelerated metabolism. I have noticed that maintaining my ideal weight requires work. I try to eat three small meals a day and two nutritional snacks. This is especially difficult with children as they like to eat junk-food. If I purchase junk-food, I usually eat it as well. To solve this problem I allow myself one cheat-meal a week. This provides me the opportunity to give into temptation without over indulging. I walk outside as often as possible, but since the seasons are changing my walking exercise has been limited. It seems as though I can shed pounds easy during the summer months, but pick some of those pounds back up during the winter months.
I have tried a couple of weight loss supplements with mixed results. Some women have had good results with the slimquick fat burner. So if you want to lose weight and fit back into those skinny jeans, make certain to diet and exercise.

With numerous new websites being created daily, online marketing is extremely important. As with real-estate, a websites numerical ranking, its location, in a search engines results page is everything. Most people searching the internet will not go to the second page of the search results. They will use one of the sites found on the first page of results given by the particular search engine.
Search Engine Optimization is nothing new, yet many people are unaware that this service exists. A website, whether its personal or business related, can be optimized to appear toward the top of a search engines results. These optimizations may take several weeks to take effect, as they require changes in the website and sometimes new search engine crawls. Most search engine optimization services offer tracking tools so that the user can analyze site traffic. So if you own a website, make certain to optimize your site to obtain the most traffic possible. This is especially important with business websites as you want to get a positive return on investment (ROI).
So as we were coming home from picking up some whole milk for my baby girl and Romaine lettuce for salad as our dinner, I took pictures of my neighborhood. Choosing where to live and raise your children is very important because this affect the children’s upbringing. We live in a subdivision. We really like the location of our house, its is in a cul-de-sac; thus we feel our children are safe. Cul-de-sac is a French word that means: dead end, close, or no through road. But going back to the topic, my children love it here because they have friends to play with outside. Our neighbors are nice and friendly. We even have a police officer that lives in our neighborhood. My children likes to ride their bicycles, skate-board, plays soccer, play football, and ride their pocket bike.
Yesterday was a perfect day to play out side and spend quality time with our children. I actually threw the football with my eight year old son and we enjoyed it. Then I played with my four year son on his bicycle and skate-board. We also played with our baby girl with her tricycle. She loves to watch our next door neighbors dog. We might have to get a dog for her next birthday. But, we have to discuss it further. I also rode the pocket bike which is so much fun. I actually rode it a couple of times and asked my husband to take a picture of me while I was riding it so that I could share it with my blog friends.
So, please take a look at the photos that I am sharing and be inspired to spend quality time with your family
As I get older I realize how important it is to stay not only physically fit, but also mentally fit. I have witnessed the effects of ageing first-hand. I have seen that with age, physical and mental abilities diminish; thus brain training is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle in the golden years.
As with any muscle in the human body, you either use it or lose it. Muscles that are not used are cannibalized by the body. The same is true with your cognitive-skills. If you don’t exercise them then they can become dull. Cognitive skills include attention, remembering, producing and understanding language, problem solving and decision making. These are skills that are used on a daily basis as you interact with other individuals at work. However, as you age and hopefully retire, you may not use these cognitive skills as often, which could result in cognitive decline.
Cognitive decline does not have to be the case. Science has shown that you can train your brain and keep your mental process sharp. As an athlete trains his muscles, we must train our minds and keep them in shape. So as you age, make certain to remain not only physically strong, but also mentally strong.
While in the Philippines, I majored in education in College. I graduated with a bachelor’s of education and obtained my teaching certification. After living in the United States for some time, I had my college credits transferred. I used a third party company that evaluates college courses in foreign countries. All my credits transferred correctly and my bachelor’s degree was recognized in the United States; although if I wish to teach I will have to take numerous educational classes and re-obtain my teaching certification.
In America, most Universities offer scholarships; whether it’s an academic scholarship or an athletic scholarship. Students can also avail of federal, state or public funded scholarship programs. For example, the Woodrow Wilson teaching fellowships program offers an initiative that provides thirty-thousand dollar fellowships to exceptional college graduates or career changing individuals. The program recipients must further their skills in teaching math, science, engineering or technology. After completing a clinically-based masters program at a participating university, a recipient of the program commits to teach in an urban or rural school district for at least three years.
The Woodrow Wilson teaching fellowships program assists motivated individuals in a select education field and gives back to the community. So if you are looking at furthering your education or changing career paths, look into the Woodrow Wilson teaching fellowships program.
When we went to my in-laws house, I took a picture of this flower, as I have seen it in the Philippines. I have always liked this plant because the flower looks unreal, yet beautiful. The flower blossoms in a variety of colors; they are all pleasing to the eye. These plants are easy to maintain and propagate. I am sharing the photo I took and information that I got from Wikipedia.
Anthurium is a large genus of about 600–800 (possibly 1,000) species, belonging to the arum family (Araceae). Anthurium can also be called “Flamingo Flower” or “Boy Flower“, both referring to the structure of the spathe and spadix.
TROPICOS lists 1901 types, although some of these are duplicates. It is one of the largest and probably the most complex genus of this family; certainly it is one of the most variable. Many species are undoubtedly not yet described and new ones are being found every year. The species has neotropical distribution; mostly in wet tropical mountain forest of Central America and South America, but some in semi-arid environments. Most species occur in Panama, Columbia, Brazil, the Guiana Shield and Ecuador. According to the work of noted aroid botanist Dr. Tom Croat of the Missouri Botanical Garden, no members of this genus are indigenous to Asia. Deliberately or accidentally however, some species have been introduced into Asian rain forests, and have become established as aliens, but however familiar they might now seem, they are not indigenous.

Have you ever used an online auction? A new trend in online auctions is penny auctions. A penny auction is basically an online auction site in which all auctions begin at a penny. Once a bid is placed on an item, the price is raised by a penny. Instead of rooting that Nook (which will cost you $249.00), if you bid and win, you can get an iPad for pennies on the dollar at dealfun.com.
With Deal Fun you can join for free and bid on everything from iPhones to Jewelry. During registration, you might even find a promotional code to receive free bids. Beginner auctions are offered to help new users better understand the auction process. So how does the auction process work? Once you bid on an item the funds are placed toward that item. If you do not win the item, your total bid still goes toward that item. Make certain your budget is set to win the auction.
Another great feature of Deal Fun is they show the price the item sold for, the bidder that won the item, and how many bids they used to win the item. This along with twenty-four hour customer service provides a more bidder friendly atmosphere. So if you like online auctions, Deal Fun is definitely worth checking-out.
As a Filipina, I try to maintain my radiant complexion. I have contemplated using a skin brightener, especially for those over pigmented areas such as my knees and elbows. I have numerous friends that have tried this process, with quality products, and succeeded. I also have some friends that have tried off-name brand products that led to failure.
I enjoy working outside in the yard; mowing the grass, pulling weeds, and maintaining my flower-garden. Since I have a natural tan, being outside during the summer months, usually increases my tan. I am fine with my natural glow, but being outside to much adds to my tone. This unnecessary addition leads me to research skin lighteners. I believe it might be worth trying a quality skin brightening and lightening product to un-do the damage caused by the summer sun.
As I stated, many of my friends use skin lighteners on a periodic basis. I have seen first-hand how well skin brighteners can work. After several weeks of usage, a noticeable lightening in tone and blemishes occurs. So if your skin tone has increased or you have age spots that you would like to reduce, research a skin brightening and lightening solution.

My husband and I are going to visit my parents next year. We have already made our travel arrangements. I have been thinking of a great gift for my parents. The first gift that came to my mind was a watch. Neither of my parents have a watch. They have both mentioned other people’s watches in the past, so I know they would appreciate a watch as a gift. What makes a watch such a great gift?
I believe a watch makes such a great gift for many reasons: A good quality watch is built to last, watches come in many different shapes and styles, and watches are personal (you can even get his and hers watches to match). Every time my parents look at the time, they will think about my love for them. A watch given as a present has sentimental value. I have even seen watches with a message engraved on the back, for that added little touch.
Since we have some time before we visit my parents, I plan to shop around for a gift and consider the many different makes and models of watches available on the market; such as Aquaswiss watches. I know no matter what gift we select, my parents will enjoy it and be grateful.
