With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I begin searching for Valentine’s Day gifts to give to my spouse. My husband and I get our children candy and I usually give my husband the run-of-the-mill Valentine’s Day gift: chocolates and a card. Though these gifts are appreciated, this year we are trying to watch our weight and eat more nutritional food. Thus, chocolate will be out of the picture as a gift for Valentine’s Day, at least for my husband and myself; of course we will still get the children chocolate, so that we don’t have an uprising.

Since my husband has to wear corrective lenses, eyeglasses, I believe this would make a great Valentine’s Day gift. He could always use an extra pair of eyeglasses. Plus, it would be nice to have a different pair of eyeglasses to wear with different attire. I know my father-in-law keeps numerous pair of extra eyeglasses on-hand, so that if he breaks a pair, he always has a spare. Zenni Optical offers fashionable, yet affordable, eyeglasses. This past Saturday, my sweet husband took us (the kids and myself) out to eat dinner. We agreed that our stomachs were set on Chili’s, since we missed eating ribs. They really have delicious ribs that melt in your mouth. So after we were seated, we decided to get some appetizers to keep the kids occupied, while waiting for our main course. This really helped, especially with our eighteen month old girl, she loved the Texas cheese fries. She was so quiet and just enjoyed eating the appetizers.

It is always great to add a personal touch to a yard. It is appealing to see a yard that is well trimmed and landscaped. We seldom visit our family in Tennessee as its hard to travel with a baby and our older daughter works on weekends. But during special occasions we go up there to be with our family. The family trip is always a filled with fun and laughter. We get to catch up with what’s new and spend time with our family members; we also Cook, cook, cook and eat, eat, eat. hahaha!

Our Uncle and Aunt have numerous acres of land in Tennessee; you can really experience nature at their place. Their is even a small stream that you have to pass over going to their house. My husband practices shooting his pistol while we are there and nobody bothers him, nor does the loud sound bother anyone.

We love spending time on their front porch. They have swings that we all love to sit in and swing. We hang out there and talk about current events; joke around and play with the children and dogs. Last December our Uncle acquired a John Deer tractor. We know how proud he is to have it and he needs it with the large amount of yard work. Our kids wanted to ride on it but it was very cold this past visit; maybe this summerl.

When I first arrived in the States, one of the first gifts my husband gave me was a watch.  I really enjoy wearing the watch.  Classic watches are timeless; they seem to remain in style even through the changing trends.  I will always cherish the watch he purchased for me.  I wore the watch he purchased for me daily up until about a year ago, when the battery died.  Just recently, I retrieved the watch from my jewelry drawer to have the battery replaced.

My husband has several watches.  When he was growing-up, he collected watches.  His favorite watches are Citizen Eco drive watches and Kinetic watches.  He said that at one point in time, he had over a dozen different watches.  He would wear a different watch each day of the week.  He said he would ask for a watch as a present whenever the opportunity presented itself.  Currently my husband only has a couple of watches in our jewelry drawer.  He has a stainless steel watch with a silver dial that looks very classy.  It makes a great timepiece to wear to the office.  It also is a great accessory when my husband has to wear a suit; the silver color sets the suit off.

I usually cook dinner everyday; I try to cook different menu items so that my husband and children will not get tired of the food that I prepare for them.

I learned to cook different dishes; American, Mexican, Filipino,and Italian. I realized how hard it is to be a cook and to satisfy your family. But when I hit the spot… Boy they will thank me like I made the best dish they ever had. This is very fulfilling to me. My husband and children never fail to tell me how they appreciate everything I do for them.

Last night, I made a Philly Cheese Steak and Bingo, I hit the spot again! I took a picture of it using my iPhone 4s.

My husband and I planned to purchase a cabin in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We wanted to invest in something that we could use for vacation and at the same time rent it out, while we are not using the said property. We liked the idea of shopping for furniture and decorations for the cabin. A rustic dining table is one of the furniture pieces that we wanted to purchase. It is very appealing to have furniture such as this.
